Mission

To provide a forum for the exchange of scientific and clinical ideas and experience relating to all aspects of plantar pressure imaging, from data acquisition hardware to clinical data interpretation.

Specific objectives will be discussed at the inaugural meeting.

Background

Pedobarographic imaging has become a standard tool for the biomechanical analysis of gait. Both hardware systems and analysis techniques are diverse, yet there has not yet been a significant effort at the community level to discuss the scientific and clinical merits of these different approaches to pedobarography. The i-FAB-PG aims to initiate community discussion regarding these issues and ultimately to reach consensus where possible.

Inaugural Meeting

Date:  16 September 2010

Time:  7:00 - 8:00 pm

Location:  i-FAB 2010 (Kane Hall room 220) Seattle, USA

History

This initiative grew out of community discussions regarding pedobarographic data analysis techniques, and came into being through discussions between Dieter Rosenbaum (University of Münster, Germany), Todd Pataky (Shinshu University, Japan), and Noël Keijsers (Sint Maartenskliniek, The Netherlands), who will host the inaugural meeting.

This activity is endorsed by the i-FAB Steering Group.
